September to December!

Hey Everybody!
Here is what's been happening in the Colburn household for the last couple of months!

In September we held our first ever Restoration Road Church service! It went GREAT! It was very smooth with no major mishaps! It felt really natural and for that we are grateful! We are so blessed to be in community with a lot of amazing people and we can't wait to see how God will use us to bring the gospel to the Wakefield area! Also in September we celebrated Kyleigh's 1st birthday! I can't believe how quickly she has grown! She started walking in August and now she runs everwhere!!! Jacqueline also started Dance classes in September and she gets to go with her best friend Keira!

We spent halloween with the Thomson's and Vecchio's again this year! Jacqueline was a clown (not the scary kind) and Kyleigh was a monkey! It was a lot of fun and the weather was beautiful!

Thanksgiving was spent with our great friends the Vanada's for the 5th year in a row! It is a growing tradition that we cherish greatly! We are so blessed to have the Vanada's in our life! We always have a great time with them and our kids love them greatly! We just found out last month that we will be going to Disney World with them in July! We are so excited! Jacqueline can't stop talking about the castle:) Also Jacqueline had her first ever dental appointment in November! She did AMAZING! She acted like she had been going to the dentist her whole life:)

Jacqueline got an early Christmas gift:)
This Christmas we will be staying here! We will spend Christmas eve with the Vecchio's and Thomson's and then Christmas day with the Vanada's.

Some new things that will be happening in the new year: Dave will be going to school to get his masters in Biology so that he can further his career and have more range in what he can do! Also we will be getting a visit from my little brother in January! I am so excited for him to come and hang out with his nieces! That's all for now! Night folks:)

The last 5 months!

Hello Readers! No surprise here, but I am definitely getting worse at blogging every month. So I think that I have decided to only post every couple months or so! It seems to be better this way, seeing as we don't always have something to share every month! So here is the last five months in a few paragraphs:)

In March we celebrated my 23rd birthday! It was so much fun. We had about twenty friends show up to celebrate at buffalo wild wings, including some very old family friends, Casey and Jessica Videtto! I grew up with these guys in Colorado and found out a few months prior that Casey and his (very pregnant with twins) wife Amy, were living in MA. and had started attending our church! Jessica just happened to be visiting at the time. The evening was a blast, however I can't say the same for the next day! Dave and Jacqueline ended up catching a stomach bug and it landed Dave a nice nights stay in the ER. Thankfully, Kyleigh and Myself were able to steer clear of catching it though! Dave recovered but is forever opposed to eating at BWW!

In April we made an appearance in Colorado to spend some time with family and to celebrate Jacqueline's 3rd birthday!!! That's right, she's 3!!! I have no idea where the time has gone. She has grown so much and has so much personality! We had a blast for her birthday swimming and having a BBQ with lots of family and friends! I even got to meet up with my Best friend from the 2nd grade who has a son about the same age as Jacqueline! We spent Easter with our great friends the Thomsons! We always have a blast with them and the girls really enjoyed Easter egg hunting.

At the pool for Jacqueline's Birthday!

My friend Erin and her son Eli

In June Dave finished with his school year at Mystic valley. He is still currently working for Starbucks in the evenings but will be through with that when school starts back up in August. On June 30th My sister and I drove, yes I said drove, out to Colorado! It took us 31 hours from Benton, PA. but we made it almost straight through with only 3 hours of stopping time for rest! While the girls had a blast, it was a pretty rough trip for me because there is a lot of family drama going on that revolves around my sister. I was trying to show her love without supporting some bad decisions that she was making. When we made it to Colorado we helped move my sister into her new house, went to Water World Theme Park, and spent a lot of time with family! Over all it was a pretty good time and I got to stay for 3 weeks. Dave flew down on the 7th of July to join us, and Dave's brother Dan joined us on the drive back to MA.

We made it back to MA. on July 21st and Dave's brother Dan stayed with us until the 30th! We took him to the beach a couple of times but mostly just hung out at the house! We figure he's been here enough times that we are past all the touristy stuff:) He even got to join us for one of our Restoration Road Church meetings and got to hear about all the progress and plans we have been making there.

Currently, we are getting ready for Dave to start up teaching again on August 17th. We started the Dave Ramsey Total Money Makeover Book to help us make a plan for getting out of debt (mostly student loans), which means no extra spending for a while! This is gonna be hard for us but hopefully the outcome is worth it:)

And lastly, Restoration Road will have it's first service on September 9th!!!!! I can't beleive we are so close to launching! God has really blessed us and everything seems to be falling into place! I am very excited/nervous/sad about this. The sad part being that I will miss seeing all of our seven mile friends every Sunday! Also in September we will be celebrating Kyleigh's 1st birthday! I have no idea where the time has gone! I feel as though I just had her yesterday! Not sure wether or not we will have a big celebration for this or not but I will keep you posted if we do! Also, Kyleigh has already begun to take steps on her own! It looks like she will be right on track with Jacqueline who was walking by 11 months!

That's all I have for now but stay posted for more:)

February 16, 2012

This is soooooooo late but Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Happy valentines day! I seem to be getting worse rather then better when it comes to posting every month! Sorry! So shall I begin catching you up on life in the Colburn house?

So this year for Christmas we decided to stay in Boston. This was mostly due to the fact that we officially have to pay for Jacqueline to fly and it would have cost us 1,600 dollars to fly us all out to Colorado! CRAZY!!!!! So instead of heading to Colorado Dan, Dave's brother, flew down to spend Christmas with us. It was really nice to have him around but Dave had to work the majority of the time cause his school is really lame with their vacations. Poor Danny had to spend a lot of time with just me and the girls:) The girls were really blessed with lots of gifts from family, We had no more space to put things! That being said, I had to convert our dining room into a play room because all of the toys couldn't fit in the girls room.

After Danny left we celebrated the new year with Mike and Sara Spurlock. We had a great time and I think we watched 3 movies waiting for midnight to roll around! Jacqueline actually stayed up to welcome the new year, however I doubt that suprises very many of you because she spent most of her 2 years of life keeping us up that late anyways:)

With the new year has come a LOT of Wakefield church planting stuff! We have officially begun looking for a space to hold service and we have been having Core Team Meetings every month! This has being really exciting, but at the same time it is starting to hit all of us just how close the launching of the church really is.

Jacqueline has taken to being a big sister really well! She truly loves playing and helping with Kyleigh.  They are great at keeping each other company. Jacqueline will be turning 3 in a little under two months!!!! I can't believe how big she has gotten. We will be celebrating her birthday in Colorado, since we couldn't make it down for Christmas. It will be really great to see the family and celebrate with them.

My messy little girl!
Her new easel!

Jacqueline LOVES to help me cook and bake!
Kyleigh is 5 months old already! I can't believe how fast time is racing by! I feel like I just had her yesterday! She has mastered rolling over and she has started scooting across the floor, however she always scoots backwards, never forwards! She was put on Solids at four months which is kind of early but it was because she was still only giving us two hours of sleep at night in between feedings! I don't think she minds this very much though! She LOVES to eat:) The evidence is all in her cheeks! Her favorite thing to do during the day is sit in her bouncy seat that she got for Christmas. That thing entertains her for hours on end!

Dave is now working 2 jobs, the poor guy! He teaches during the day and then he works at Starbucks at night 3-4 times a week. It sucks that he is gone so much but it's necessary if he wants to keep living here in MA.

As for myself, I haven't been doing anything real exciting except for taking care of my two beautiful girls. I hate the winter because it is so hard to get them out to do things and I can't wait for warm weather to return.

Baking with my baby!
Hopefully I will be more consistent with my postings so that it's not so much to catch up on all at once:)
